Kompresi Video Digital Menggunakan Geometric Wavelet

Video nowadays, used in several different application like video conference, medical diagnostic and security device. Video compression is needed to facilitate both storage and transmission without lost of information. The main goal in video compression is to minimize te weight of the files and maximize the quality of the reconstruction. In this thesis, Geometric Wavelet (GW) algorithm is used to spatiotemporal digital video compression. It combines a Binary Space Partition (BSP) tree with Geometric Wavelet tree. The BSP approach partitions the image recursively by oriented lines in hierarchical manner. This recursive partitioning generates a binary tree, which is refered to as the BSP tree representation of the image. Nodes in the BSP tree selected as representative nodes, which is refered to as the GW tree representation. The GW method reduced the blocking effect in the video reconstruction. Video quality measured by Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) parameter in dB.
